This page will help you find a homebirth or birth center midwife throughout the U.S. and eventually, Europe. This is a page in progress. We will update as we come in contact with more midwifery supporters in each state and country. If you have a name of a resource in a state or country, please e-mail us at the address at the bottom of this page so we can keep this page current. Thanks to Susan Hodges of Citizens for Midwifery and Rahima Baldwin-Dancy, CPM, LM, of Informed Homebirth for their invaluable help in creating this page.

Association for Pre- & Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH) APPPAH was founded in 1983 by Toronto psychiatrist and psychologist Thomas R. Verny, M.D., D.Psych., F.R.C.P.C., as a forum for individuals from diverse backgrounds and disciplines interested in psychological dimensions of prenatal and perinatal experiences. Typically, this includes childbirth educators, birth assistants, doulas, midwives, obstetricians, nurses, social workers, perinatologists, pediatricians, psychologists, counselors, researchers, and teachers at all levels. One does not have to be a professional, however: all who share these interests are welcome to join.
